Well, it went by more quickly than I expected. I have officially completed my podcasting class as well as my e-learning graduate certificate. I'm done with taking classes - for a little while at least.
The podcasting course was slightly more stressful than I expected, spending about 17 hours on recording and editing it and up until 2 am last night finishing the edits....but it was a fun course. I am not usually very savvy when it comes to tools, but I actually kind of enjoyed figuring it all out. My podcasts turned out decent for my first time, but I am a nervous speaker and you can definitely tell in the recordings that I scripted it. Anyway, the series is called Creative Woman and I completed three episodes: Scrapbooking, Wedding Planning and Sign Language with Babies.
You can check out my podcasts by clicking on this link (this link works from my home computer, but not from work): http://edit.gmu.edu/575/edowdell/index.xml
Or by following these directions to subscribe to my podcast in iTunes:
- Open iTunes
- Choose Podcasts (along the left side - after it is installed on your computer)
- Click on the Advanced link at the top of the page
- Choose Subscribe to Podcast
- Copy and paste this address: http://edit.gmu.edu/575/edowdell/index.xml into the box that opened up
Keep in mind I didn't have time to make it as authentic as I wanted to, but my friend Kate was able to give an expert interview in the Sign Language with Babies podcast. There is usually a lot more participation from other people in podcasts, so you'll likely find mine a little monotonous.

I knew I should have got an ipod. Dammit!
Welcome to the world of podcasting. Maybe you can help with my DVD authoring.
No Ipod needed for Podcasting you know...that is a myth!
I'm not a natural at speaking, but I think I missed my calling in the editing world.
