I paid off my car last January, 2006, and have yet to get my title because to make a very long story short, I was tired of arguing with them that I hadn't received it. Ryan called today, to try to get the title and got the run around too, but finally got somewhere, so we should be able to actually receive the title soon...but that's what they told be many times before. We'll see!
Earlier this month, I wrote about our interesting mishaps with my car and it was just the battery, but cost us over $200 to figure that out. At the same time, the SRS (airbag) light came on in my car and stayed on. The mechanic looked at it and suggested we take it to Acura to get a diagnostic test. My other airbag lights have come on before and then turned off again, so I kind of assumed that would happen in this case too. Well, my car needs inspected by the end of February and the mechanic had told us it wouldn't pass with that light on, so we've procrastinated long enough - though I did have to convince Ryan we should get it looked at before Feb 17th. That's when he wanted to get it all taken care of (emissions, get this light turned off, change my name on the registration, and get it inspected)...I'm glad we didn't wait!
So, we took my car to Acura tonight, and had it tested along with the oil changed. On a side note, the Acura dealership service absolutely sucks and I'll never purchase anything from the (Pohanka Acura) because they are so rude, but they are open until midnight in the service center. So, they called at about 8:00pm and said that the computer that regulates the airbags had failed, that is why the SRS light is on. So, we are waiting up to eventually go pick up my car...the total damage: $900 (+ tax)!!!
So, as soon as we take care of all this crap with my car, I think it is a good excuse to get a new one....any suggestions?

I suggest Honda or Toyota. I have had both and never had one problem with either. We have actually had 3 toyotas at one time (one of which is a 1986 pick up truck, still running great!). There is also a Dodge dealership in my area that gives you a 100,000 mile 10 year warranty on everything if you bring it to them for the repairs. Maybe you can find one like that in your area.
HA HA! All cars will break eventually and then you pay a lot to get them fixed. Just try to remember the days that you did not have to spend that much money on them.
I have all your records beat with my Nissan, but I am going to get rid of her this year...
I'd suggest Mazda3 or 6 if you enjoy the driving aspects of Acura. George and I had an Acura Integra previously and the Mazda is nearly as fun to drive, although geared a little funny in my estimation. But, unlike the Acura, the price tag is cheaper and the car could actually fit a family in it at some point. Plus, you're already used to sucky service, so it wouldn't be much of a change!
Thanks, Kaz. I've only just started the investigation process, but I looked into the Mazda 6 a little bit. I'll keep it in mind. I do LOVE the Acuras, but they are a little too pricey.
